Founder of Germinal Press, Stephen Townshend was born in New Zealand, where as a teenager he started working as a writer for Rip It Up and other musical press.

Having moved to Australia, he turned his hand to editing, at the same time creating a number of street fanzines, including Loaded and stet, before starting the corporate communications company Golden Arm Productions.

The author of several travel books (his first was on Cuba; his last on Melbourne) for Rough Guides and the like, Stephen formed Germinal Press in 2010. Stephen lives in Sydney and is the author of Rugby World Cup 2011, our first title in The Last Word series.
